The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum consists of seven key areas. The first three areas are crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and developing a child’s capacity to learn, they are;
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
Children are also supported in four specific areas, through which the prime areas are strengthened and applied, they are:
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Children work in small groups on ‘adult-led’ activities where they are taught new skills under the guidance and instruction of an adult. They also learn through ‘child-initiated’ activities, where children are encouraged to develop their own interests, become independent thinkers and explore as independent learners. We utilise a large vibrant indoor space as well as an inviting and spacious outdoor area which is used all year.
