The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum consists of seven key areas. The first three areas are crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and developing a child’s capacity to learn, they are:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Children work in small groups on ‘adult-led’ activities where they are taught new skills under the guidance and instruction of an adult. They also learn through ‘child-initiated’ activities, where children are encouraged to develop their own interests, become independent thinkers and explore as independent learners. We utilise a large vibrant indoor space as well as an inviting and spacious outdoor area which is used all year.
During the school day, all children within EYFS receive free milk and fruit during morning break time.
