At Forest School, children have the opportunity to explore and take part in a range of activities in a natural outdoor environment, in all weathers. Children are encouraged to take manageable risks, challenge themselves and explore independently to develop self-confidence and a feeling of self-worth.
The Forest School ethos aims to encourage and inspire individuals through positive outdoor experiences. Children are given small achievable tasks and they are encouraged to follow their interests.
Forest School England defines the Forest School approach as:
‘…an inspirational process that offers children and young people opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem through hands on learning experiences in a woodland environment’.
